World number four Roger Federer registered the 800th win of his career as he overcame Juan Monaco 6-3 7-5 in their Paris Masters quarter-final.
He is only the seventh man in history to surpass the 800-win mark.
Federer said: "It's nice. It's just another win, but it's a special one nevertheless, because 800 is definitely a big number."
He will now play Tomas Berdych, who defeated Andy Murray to end the Scot's 17-match unbeaten run.
Federer suffered an early break of serve but won five straight games to recover from 3-1 behind and take the opening set.
Monaco matched the 16-times Grand Slam winner for most of the second set but surrendered his serve in the 11th game. Federer won with an ace in the next game.
Federer, 30, who won the last of his Grand Slams in Australia in 2010,has suffered 186 losses over his career.
He is the highest-ranked player left in the tournament after Murray's defeat and world number one Novak Djokovic's withdrawal from the tournament with a shoulder injury.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the only remaining Frenchman in the tournament, was given a bye into the last four because of Djokovic's fitness troubles.
John Isner will be Tsonga's opponent after the American beat Spanish fourth seed David Ferrer 6-3 3-6 6-3.
Victory over world number five Ferrer matches the highest-seeded scalp of Isner's career so far - a five-set win over Andy Roddick at the 2009 US Open.
Isner made the faster start opening up a 4-1 lead in the first set which he clinched with an ace.
The 26-year-old fired a forehand wide to drop serve in the sixth game of the second set and allow Ferrer to level.
But Ferrer sent a forehand long as Isner broke for a 5-3 lead in the decider and the big-serving world number 25 sealed his win with his 12th ace of the match.
