Bayern Bank on Ribery at Allianz

Franck Ribery will be the difference between Bayern Munich and Chelsea in the Champions League final, according to two of his team-mates.

Philipp Lahm and Bastien Schweinsteiger agree that the Frenchman could be key when the sides meet at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.

Ribery was suspended for the 2010 final against Inter Milan in Madrid, which Bayern lost, and Lahm expects that disappointment to make him more determined.

The Bayern captain said: "He missed out two years ago so will be particularly motivated. He has already proven many times how important he is to us.

"He is an excellent footballer and he is a player who can decide games, we all know that.

"We all have the hunger to win this cup and it will be a difficult task and Franck will make his contribution for us to win."

And vice-captain Bastian Schweinsteiger agrees.

He said: "For me personally, he is an excellent player who can make the difference. I think it can be decisive that Ribery, who was suspended back then (in 2010), will be back."
Suspension

Schweinsteiger, however, believes that players should not miss the final because of suspension.

Luiz Gustavo, Holger Badstuber and David Alaba will be absent from the Bayern line-up, whilst Chelsea will be without John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Raul Meireles and Ramires.

"I personally think it would have been better if all the players, both for Chelsea and for us, were on board," said the Germany International.
