Hodgson is Happy with Norway

England manager Roy Hodgson revealed Glen Johnson and Danny Welbeck should be fit to make his squad for the European Championship.

Hodgson saw his experimental England side record their first win over Norway for 32 years in a largely lacklustre encounter on Saturday night.

Liverpool defender Johnson sparked a fitness concern when he failed to play any meaningful part in the opening training session at the start of the week because of an infected toe.

Meanwhile, Manchester United forward Welbeck has been having intensive treatment on an ankle injury suffered during the Manchester derby.

But after the game in Oslo the 64-year-old admitted he had no worries about the pair making his final 23, which is due to be finalised on Tuesday.

"You know, we've had our doubts during the week, but both of those have taken more and more part in training during the course of the week," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.

"They're coming back into camp early. Both are coming back on Monday evening rather than Tuesday morning to do a bit of extra work, so basically I'm satisfied with them."

Martin Kelly made his international debut in the closing minutes of the game replacing Phil Jones, who seemed to have picked up an injury, but Hodgson said he would be fine, saying: "Jones was just a bit of tightness in the hamstring which came from running so much I guess."
