Severiano Ballesteros Sota bright smile will today be extinguished today forever at a funeral service in in his beloved home town of Pedreña in a simple ceremony at the Church of San Pedro with at least six Ryder Cup captains joining the mourners.
His eldest son, Baldomero, revealed Seve will be cremated in his favourite clothes — white shirt, navy blue - the colours he wore in capturing his five Major Championship titles.
Baldomero said his father had asked for a private funeral after which he will be cremated.

"He told us everything and there was to be just a funeral in the town church and nothing more," said Baldomero.
"Everything else was to remain within the intimacy of the family.
"My father is a village boy and we thought it was the best. His funeral rites will be as simple as for any other neighbour. He will be sent on his way like anyone else. He was born here in Pedreña and will remain here."
Bernard Gallacher, the captain between 1991 and 1995, Sam Torrance (2002), Nick Faldo (2008), Colin Montgomerie (2010), Ian Woosnam (2006) and Jose Maria Olazabal (2012) will lead the world golf, along with the current number one, Lee Westwood.
A plane from London, chartered by the European Tour, also included executive director George O'Grady, and Sir Michael Bonallack, secretary of the Royal and Ancient of St. Andrews.
There will be a large number of Spanish golfers, including Miguel Angel Jimenez and Sergio Garcia, along with Manuel Piñero, José María Cañizares, Antonio Garrido members of the "Spanish Armada". A plane will also travel from Mallorca for some of those playing in the Iberdrola Open to attend.
All of Spain's 422 golf clubs will observe a minute’s silence on Wednesday, while the flag sticks for the Pro-Am of the Iberdrola Open will have black ribbons attached.
