Cristiano Ronaldo has been withdrawn from the Portugal squad to take on Gabon on Wednesday in an international friendly due to a nasty eye injury he suffered in Real Madrid's 2-1 victory at Levante on Sunday night.
Ronaldo was ruled unfit by Portugal national team doctors on Monday.
Ronaldo was caught in the face by defender David Navarro but soldiered on, even giving Madrid the lead before being substituted at halftime.
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho said Ronaldo lost partial vision in both eyes.
Valencia defender Joao Pereira and Dynamo Kiev midfielder Miguel Veloso have also pulled out of the clash in Libreville.
Portugal coach Paulo Bento has called up Maritimo's Ruben Ferreira and Hugo Viana of Braga as replacements.
