Kehm Clarifies Bunte Schumacher Story

Michael Schumacher's manager has criticised the "irresponsible" front page cover of a German magazine, saying it is giving "false hope" by suggest the motor sport legend is beginning to move again.

It is now closing in on two years since the Formula One star's horrific skiing accident that left him in a coma. The German suffered the serious injuries after going off-piste on the French Alps in December 2013. He was later placed in a medically induced coma to keep his condition stable.

Bunte magazine has reported that Schumacher is now able to take 'tentative' steps with the aid of a carer and has regained slight movement in one arm, with the front cover headlines 'He can move again'.

However Schumacher's long-term manager Sabine Kehm has moved to quash the speculation and strongly criticised the "irresponsible" reporting.

"Unfortunately, we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true," she said.

"Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael.

"Unfortunately they also given false hopes to many people involved."

Bunte says it is standing by its story and has no intention of removing it from newsstands.
