England and Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care has apologised after being arrested following their 21-10 Heineken Cup defeat by Toulouse.
Care, who did not play in the World Cup because of a toe injury, was fined for drunk and disorderly behaviour on Saturday before being released.
The 24-year-old said: "It was a silly thing to do, I accept that and apologise completely."
The Rugby Football Union has confirmed he will not face disciplinary action.
The player was reprimanded by Stuart Lancaster, head of England's interim coaching team, in a phone conversation on Monday, while his club have confirmed the matter will be dealt with internally.
Care, who has played 99 games for Quins, added: "I totally accept the police fine and am glad that there is no further action on that front. I will, of course, co-operate fully with the Quins process.
"It was a tough game and I was out with the team and friends but should have remembered that as a professional player I am on duty throughout the season and need to set a better example to the fans."
The Toulouse defeat marked the end of Quins' 14-game unbeaten run, which has helped them to the top of the Premiership.
