Alex Corretja has been appointed Spain's new Davis Cup captain on a two-year deal.
Corretja is British number one Andy Murray's former coaching consultant, the pair parting company in March 2011.
The 37-year-old former world number two replaces Albert Costa, who captained the Spanish to Davis Cup titles in 2009 and 2011.
"It's a privilege to be able to captain the best team of players in the world," said Corretja.
The ex-French Open finalist, who helped Spain win the first of their five Davis Cups in 2000, will have his first match in charge at home to Kazakhstan in a world group first-round tie from 10-12 February.
