O'Hara Makes the Switch to Wolves

Wolves have wrapped up the permanent signing of midfielder Jamie O'Hara from Tottenham on a five-year contract.

The 24-year-old arrives at Molineux in a reported £5million deal after enjoying a successful loan spell at the club during the second half of last season.

He scored three goals in 13 games including one against Blackburn on the final day of the season which helped keep Wolves in the Premier League.

An agreement was already in place for O'Hara to make the move to Wolves should the player and manager Mick McCarthy want that to happen.

O'Hara was often used effectively just behind the main striker in a 4-5-1 formation as Wolves guaranteed top-flight football for a third successive season.

McCarthy said: "Jamie made a big impact when he first came here. There was a dip in form at one juncture but he came strong again at the end.

"I am delighted the deal has been done which will see Jamie become a permanent Wolves player.

"It may have taken a bit of time to finalise all the details but it was always going to happen because we wanted to sign him and he wanted to come.

"He is a midfielder who is good on the ball, not afraid to put his foot in and also has an eye for goal.

"On top of that he is also a good character around the place who has a positive influence in the dressing room.

"Jamie is a quality player - a Premier League player - and just the sort we need to bring in to strengthen the squad ahead of another season in the division."

Wolves are also thought to be interested in £3million-rated Reading defender Matt Mills and Liverpool left-back Paul Konchesky, who spent the second half of last season on loan to Nottingham Forest.

McCarthy is additionally looking for a new keeper as back-up for Wayne Hennessey after Marcus Hahnemann was released at the end of last season.
