The World Anti-Doping Agency will not contest Lance Armstrong's lifetime ban from cycling.
The American was suspended and stripped of his seven Tour de France titles after the sport's governing body accepted the findings of a United States Anti-Doping Agency investigation into his alleged doping.
The report accused Armstrong and his United States Postal Service team of running "the most sophisticated, professionalised and successful doping programme that sport has ever seen".
And WADA has announced it will raise no objection to the sanctions proposed by USADA and rubber-stamped by the International Cycling Union.
The organisation's president John Fahey said: "WADA has no concerns as to the complete process and the overwhelming weight of evidence.
"Rather it is of the opinion that the actions of USADA have highlighted the need in all cases for athletes to be able to come forward with evidence that will help rid sport of doping cheats."
Armstrong, who continues to deny doping, is still waiting to discover whether he must hand back a bronze medal won at the Olympic Games in 2000.
