He has already rated himself a better player than Lionel Messi and now Pele has claimed one of his Brazilian contemporaries, Neymar, is also better than the Argentine star.
Messi was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2009 and also won the inaugural FIFA Ballon d'Or in 2010 and 2011.
His form this season has been just as impressive, netting 61 goals for Barcelona in all competitions.
While still only 24, Messi has already been mentioned alongside the great Pele and countryman Diego Maradona as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
But Pele says Neymar, the 20-year-old Santos forward, is already a better player than Messi.
"Now everyone is talking about Messi; he is a star," Pele said.
"But (to be the best ever) he must first become better than Neymar.
"At the moment Messi is just more experienced."
