Ferris Believes Final Beckons

Stephen Ferris faces Edinburgh at Aviva Stadium

Ulster flanker Stephen Ferris says he "firmly believes" the Irish province can beat Edinburgh in Saturday's Heineken Cup semi-final in Dublin.

"It's going to be a tough day as Edinburgh are a different team in Europe when they have a settled team with their Scottish internationals.

"I haven't played in front of 40,000 Ulster fans before so that's a first for me and I'm looking forward to it.

"There's a great buzz and it feels like everyone is heading to Dublin."

Ulster have reached the last four for the first time since they won the tournament in 1999, the year English teams boycotted it.

"The whole squad are really up for it, even those who don't look like making the match-day 23, and there is a lot of expectation," added the Ireland and Lions player.

"You have to respect a team who can win away to Racing Metro but hopefully we can fulfil the high expectations."

Prop Tom Court takes confidence from the fact that the squad comprises "plenty of experienced internationals who have played in big games".

"We just have to keep grounded and not get too far ahead of ourselves," he added.

"From their results in Europe, we know that they can beat anyone and we must be wary of the threat they pose."
