World number one Novak Djokovic beat Andy Murray 6-1 7-6 (7-4) to win the Miami Masters.
Murray overcame Djokovic with a straight-sets victory in the 2009 final, but there was no repeat this time.
Djokovic showed no mercy as he took the first set with a stunning show of power and aggression.
The British number one fought back in the second, but the Serbian took the set after a tense tie-break.
Murray said he did not serve or return well in the first set. "In the second set I got into more of his service games. The conditions were tough, there were lots of really long points and it was a pretty long match [two hours and 18 minutes].
"Congratulations to Novak - he deserved to win today and has played the best tennis all week."
Djokovic said he felt he played well from "the start to the end", adding: "Andy was really close to winning the second set and the match could then have gone either way.
"You can't really tell how difficult the conditions are from TV but it was really tough, hot and humid outside.
"It was a fantastic tournament for me after a disappointing loss in the semi-finals of Indian Wells. I needed to regroup, practice hard and get ready for this event."
