Wozniacki Hopeful About Aus Open

World number one Caroline Wozniacki is hopeful of being fit for the Australian Open despite suffering a wrist injury at the Sydney International.

The Dane's wrist was strapped in the last set as she faded to a 3-6 7-5 6-2 last-eight loss to Agnieszka Radwanska.

"I'm going to get it checked out tomorrow and hopefully it's ok. Let's just hope for the best," she said.

The 21-year-old will lose her place at the top of the rankings should Petra Kvitova win the Sydney title.

"I hope it's not serious," added Wozniacki. "I could feel it today, especially in the third set. I should be completely fine for Australian Open."

Kvitova, who won her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon last year, was highly impressive in a 6-0 6-4 victory over Slovakia's world number 21 Daniel Hantuchova in her own quarter-final.

China's Li Na will be the Czech's opposition in the semi-finals, with either Radwanska or Victoria Azarenka lying in wait in a potential final.

Wozniacki insists that she would not be fazed by losing a number one slot which she held for all but one week (when Kim Clijsters occupied the position in February) since October 2010.

"To be honest, I don't think about the ranking," she said. "The most important thing is to be healthy and be able to play, and play well."

Kvitova won an early-season clash between the pair 7-6 (7-4) 3-6 6-4 at the Hopman Cup.
