Ireland have called up Craig Gilroy, Jack McGrath and Fionn Carr to the Ireland squad for the Six Nations.
Ulster wing Gilroy, who comes in for the injured Simon Zebo, is among six additional players who will train with the squad before the opener with Wales.
Leinster pair McGrath and Carr are also added to the additional players after injury forced out Andrew Conway and Paddy McAllister.
There are no uncapped players in the initial 24-man Irish squad.
The six additional "up and coming players" will gain further experience by training with the senior squad for a week prior to the Wales game in Dublin on 5 February.
Ulster prop McAllister is ruled out after sustaining a knee injury while playing for the Ulster Ravens in the British & Irish Cup.
Ireland coach Declan Kidney has stayed loyal to the men that played at the World Cup.
With Gordon D'Arcy, Paddy Wallace and Eoin Reddan included, Luke Fitzgerald, Isaac Boss and Tomas O'Leary are named in the second-string Wolfhounds panel.
However, Kidney has emphasised that Wolfhounds could still be promoted to the senior squad.
Leinster lock Leo Cullen is an injury doubt with an Achilles injury, but he has been named in the senior squad.
With Brian O'Driscoll ruled out of the Six Nations by a shoulder injury, Paul O'Connell will captain the Irish team.
