Ireland suffered a shock defeat to Namibia as they started their World Twenty20 qualifying campaign with a six-run loss in Dubai.
The Irish came into the tournament as favourites but suffered a setback at the first hurdle after failing to chase down 161.
Namibia put on 160-8 having chosen to bat first and restricted their opponents to 154-9 after blowing away their top order.
Gary Wilson, with 49, and John Mooney, who added 37, took Ireland close but their efforts proved futile in a run-chase that included four run-outs.
Somerset's George Dockrell opened the bowling with his left-arm spin and returned figures of 3-30 from his four overs, with fellow spinner Paul Stirling finishing with 3-20.
Luis van der Westhuizen did most damage for Namibia, hitting 34 in 16 balls before falling to Stirling.
Stirling was less successful with the bat, out for duck to the final ball of the first over.
Captain Will Porterfield was next out for 11 before Kevin O'Brien hit four boundaries in a rapid-fire 20.
Wickets continued to tumble, with Ed Joyce gone for five, before Wilson and Mooney took the fight to Namibia.
They put on 71 - with 11 fours and a six between them - before being dismissed as the required rate crept up.
Ireland's last hope went with Mooney, who was run out with three balls remaining.
