Garcia Dozen at Blue Monster

Sergio García hit four balls into the water for a 12 at the 3rd hole in the final round of the Cadillac Championship at Doral, south Florida, on Sunday.

García began the final round of the Cadillac Championship with an eagle. Two holes later, his round came undone. The Spaniard hit his tee shot into the water on the 438-yard par-four, with a pond down the entire right-hand side. He dropped into the rough and from about 240 yards tried three times to clear the water, failing with each shot.

García finally went over the green with his ninth shot, chipped on to the green to 35 feet and two-putted for a 12.

England's Simon Dyson had taken nine and the Scot Paul Lawrie six at the same hole.

Even with an eagle at the 1st and two birdies García turned in 40, the same as Lawrie, and was five-over par, while Dyson managed only 43 for the front nine and on 10-over was next-to-last.
