Harry Move Could Spur Klinsmann

Jurgen Klinsmann has emerged as the first contender to replace Harry Redknapp as Tottenham manager should he take the England job as everyone expects in the summer.

The Football Association are yet to formalise a move for the Spurs boss to replace Fabio Capello who resigned from his role following a row with bosses over John Terry removal as England captain.

But FA chiefs are expected to swoop in a matter of days which will then mean the north London club will begin their search for a new boss, should Redknapp accept the job at Wembley.

The World Cup winning former German international, 47, is currently in charge of the United States team but would like to take over at White Hart Lane, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The move would certainly please the Spurs faithful as Klinsmann remains a terrace hero after his two spells at the club in the 1990s.

He famously signed for the club on Alan Sugar's yacht in Monte Carlo before joining the dynamic attacking side under Ossie Ardiles which reached the FA Cup semi-final in the 1994-95 season.

He then returned for a short spell to help the club stave off relegation in 1998.

Klinsmann steered the German national side to a third-place finish at the World Cup on home soil in 2006 after which he moved to Bayern Munich before taking the reins with the US national team last year.
