Barcelona Tweet Two Year Tito Deal

Tito Vilanova will sign a two-year deal in June to confirm his appointment as Barcelona manager.

The Spanish club announced in April that the 42-year-old would take over from Pep Guardiola, who revealed he would step down this summer.

Vilanova, who was Guardiola's assistant for three years at the Nou Camp, has now agreed a new contract.

Barcelona said on their official Twitter feed: "Vilanova will sign his contract on June 15."

Vilanova played for Barcelona's youth team but never made an official appearance for the first team, although he did play for Celta Vigo and Real Mallorca.

His coaching career started at Barca's famed youth academy in 2001 and was Guardiola's number two at Barcelona's B team in 2007 before stepping up to the first team a year later.
