O'Gara Toulon Tweet Untrue

Ronan O’Gara committed to Munster and Ireland after several media outlets were taken in by a fake tweet claiming he was off to join Toulon.

O’Gara was forced to deny reports that he was about to quit his native province and move to the moneybags French Top14 outfit after a bogus Twitter account in his name claimed: “Breaking news guys.. wanted to leave it until after six nations. Just been confirmed moving to Toulon on a two year deal!”

The 35-year-old fly-half, a second-half replacement in Ireland’s 30-9 defeat to England at Twickenham, responded via his official Twitter account, @RonanOGara10, claiming he was committed to Munster and that the fast-spreading news was “inaccurate”.

“Yesterday was embarrassing and I will always be a 1 club man.

A proud munsterman,” O’Gara tweeted yesterday, followed by: “Earlier tweet was in relation to inaccurate reports... Love playing for Ireland and munster.. Nothing has changed..”
