Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic has announced that he will retire from the game after next month's Monte Carlo Rolex Masters.
Ljubicic, who turned professional in 1998, reached a career-high ranking of third in 2006 but has fallen out of the top 20 in recent years and currently sits at 39th in the world.
The 32-year-old has an impressive record with 10 career singles titles, a bronze medal in doubles with Mario Ancic at the 2004 Athens Olympics, while he was part of the 2005 Croatian team that clinched the Davis Cup crown.
However, after years of being a loyal servant to the sport, including a six-year spell on the ATP Player Council, Ljubicic has decided it is time to hang up his racket.
"It's never an easy decision for any professional athlete to retire," said Ljubicic.
"I look forward to the next stage of my life. Tennis has given me so much and I want to continue to stay involved and contribute in some ways."
