Pietersen Becomes Delhi Daredevil

England batsman Kevin Pietersen has completed his move to Indian Premier League side Delhi Daredevils.

He signed for Deccan Chargers last year but a double hernia prevented him from playing in the 2011 competition.

Pietersen, who joins Virender Sehwag at Delhi, said on Twitter: "Can't wait to watch Viru from 22 yards."

This year's IPL runs from 4 April to 27 May, but Pietersen is expected to be available for England's Test series against West Indies starting on 17 May.

Pietersen was the joint most expensive overseas player in the inaugural IPL auction in 2009, when Royal Challengers Bangalore paid $1.5m for his services.

The 31-year-old spent two seasons with Bangalore before Deccan signed him for $650,000.

"He brings rich experience, an explosive quality to our batting and can be a more than handy off-spinner as well," said TA Sekhar, head of cricket at Delhi owners GMR Sports.
